About State of Mind
If you need emergency assistance
Over the past 8 years, the NRL has been using our voice, in consultation with Australia's leading mental health experts, to make a difference to a big issue that impacts our game and our communities – mental ill health.
With this in mind, the NRL State of Mind team have created a range of workshops in partnership with headspace, Kids Helpline, Black Dog Institute and Lifeline to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of our rugby league communities.
The ‘State of Mind’ workshops aims to provide our communities with the skills and confidence to provide support to a person experiencing mental health problems, and to help them to access appropriate support if needed.
This State of Mind programs aims to:
- Increase knowledge of mental health difficulties.
- Increase confidence to support people going through a difficult time.
- Stimulate help seeking behaviours.
- Connect local mental health services.
- Normalise healthy conversations and relationships
- Become leaders in creating a connected, mentally healthy and resilient community.
National Rugby League respects and honours the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
