Shayne Hayne and Ben Cummins have today been appointed to referee the opening match of the 2014 Holden State of Origin Series at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, May 28.
NRL Referees Elite Performance Manager, Tony Archer, today announced the appointments with Russell Turner and Nick Beashel named as the Touch Judges and Steve Clark and Luke Patten as the Video Referees.
“Shayne and Ben are our two most experienced referees at Origin level and have earned their appointments through the strength of their performances in the Telstra Premiership this year,” Archer said.
“On behalf of the NRL Referees Department, I wish to congratulate all the officials appointed to the game.”
The Match Officials for the opening match of the 2014 Holden State of Origin Series are:
Referee: Shayne Hayne. Assist Referee: Ben Cummins
Touch Judges: Russell Turner and Nick Beashel
