Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr.

If there’s one player who doesn’t ever want to let his team-mates down, it’s Josh Addo-Carr.

The man affectionately known as ‘The Foxx’ has once again shown his brilliance throughout the 2019 season and is one of the reasons Melbourne claimed another minor premiership – but even the best players make mistakes.

Unfortunately for Addo-Carr, his rare blunder came at a crucial stage of last Saturday night’s qualifying final against Canberra – and it cost his side victory.

Addo-Carr would’ve been dirty on himself for the costly error, but five-eighth Cameron Munster says his team-mate shouldn’t beat himself up because he adds so much value to the squad.

“Josh is a freak and it’s very unlucky for him,” Storm playmaker Cameron Munster said.

“We all make mistakes. Josh is probably fuming about it because he loves this club and loves this team.

Smith: We're going the long way

“He’s always striving for excellence. He’ll probably be a little bit down, but he’s pulled us out of a lot of sticky situations before. He’s scored length of the field tries when we’ve needed it, and defended really well.”

Not only does Addo-Carr add a wealth of value to the team when he takes to the field, he’s also a great team-mate to have at training and away from rugby league activities.

He’s a lovable larrikin with a cackle as loud as a kookaburra, bringing plenty of energy to the people around him.

“He’s a character and I love Josh on my side. I wouldn’t trade him for anything,” Munster said.

“The thing about Josh, he doesn’t just excel on the field, he’s also a top bloke away from footy and gives the team a boost.”

It’s paramount to have some light-hearted fun, especially at this time of the season when the finals rolls around.

“It’s great to have a player like him at your club at this time of year. Everything becomes a bit tense and it’s crucial to get the wins. Josh is able to bring positive energy to the group,” Munster said.
