Raiders co-captain Josh Hodgson expects new halves partners George Williams and Jack Wighton to feed off one another as they possess similar attacking traits.
England-born Williams, 25, has joined the club after a successful Super League career which included two premierships with Wigan.
Hodgson said the Test playmaker will complement 2019 Clive Churchill Medallist Wighton and make Canberra more threatening.
Listing Williams's strengths, Hodgson said: "He takes the line on really well. His short kicking game. When he gets the ball out the back how well he squares up the line and puts his back-rowers into a hole.
"He will add another running dimension to our game. Last year Aidan [Sezer] was probably more of an organiser for us, organising and kicking and telling everyone where to go.
"Whereas [now] we've got two blokes who are genuine runners of the ball and both can organise at the same time."
Wighton wins Clive Churchill Medal
Hodgson tipped Wighton to take the lead in guiding the team around the park despite having played only one full season at five-eighth.
"He's a really vocal kid and he knows his football," the hooker said.
"I've probably got to have my ears up a little bit more than what I usually do because there's probably two of them shouting for the ball."
A 10-day camp on the Sunshine Coast has been a prime chance for Canberra to build fresh combinations with Williams and ex-Storm back Curtis Scott coming on board.
Hodgson believes Scott is set to start at right centre over Joey Leilua.
"[Scott] is a great player: we didn't sign him to be a backup I don't think," Hodgson said.
"Those two are really going to be competing for spots come round one which is what you need in a successful team."
Meanwhile, star prop Josh Papalii is confident the Raiders haven't hit their ceiling after reaching the grand final last year.
"We've still got a lot of work to do. All the international boys only came back in last week and I was one of them," Papalii said.
"Meeting all the new boys is always nice, it feels like first day of school again. It's going to be a tough 2020 but one we're looking for to."
