Brisbane Broncos forward leader Matt Lodge has taken another positive step as he recovers from a knee injury.
Lodge missed the opening two games of the 2020 premiership after damaging his ACL in training.
Broncos coach Anthony Seibold said Lodge checked in with specialist last week and received good news.
“The specialist gave Lodgey some really positive feedback after looking at the scans,” said Seibold.
Lodge's message to the Bronxnation in wake of knee injury
“He will continue his rehab and with no football at the moment, he doesn’t have to rush his recovery.”
Seibold said Jack Bird’s knee was also on the mend, after surgery to repair a ruptured ACL.
Bird had put in a stellar pre-season before going down with the injury at training on the eve of the opening game of the season against the Cowboys.
“Jack returned to Queensland before the borders were shut and he is working on his rehab, and we are all behind him to support him on that journey,” said Seibold.
