As a high profile player, David Fifita knows that his performances will make people talk.
He knows when he plays well that people will pat him on the back and when he plays poorly that people will be quick to criticise given his standing in the game.
The 22-year-old says while he knows that's part of the job, he just focusses on trying to make both his community and his family proud.
"Sometimes I get, not ashamed, but disappointed in myself because I'm always in the headlines and my family at home see it," he told ABC Grandstand in an interview earlier this month.
"I know that all comes with it.
"For myself, I know it will click and I know what I can produce so when I get it I know everyone will be happy."
In his first season at the Titans, Fifita broke the club's try scoring record and topped a number of the stats sheets in a high impact year.
He says this year hasn't gone to plan, but is confident that both his individual and the team's form isn't far off returning.
"Last year (I thought I did perform well), but this year I haven't performed really well this year," he said.
"People can say what they want to say but at the end of the day we have the squad here and the staff here to get the results.
"But it's just not happening and it's not clicking and I think that just comes down to ourselves and not executing.
"We're not getting the results.
"It's just a confidence thing for myself and the boys and we just need to get the wins now to try and ride the wave and finish the year strong."
Former Queensland Origin winger Jharal Yow Yeh, who was part of the ABC broadcast, says he thinks Fifita will have a big finish to 2022.
"I know you pretty well Dave ... you might not think this but having your knee injury might be the best thing that happens to you this year." Yow Yeh said.
"You get a bit of time away from the game to understand where you're going to be and time away from representative footy to get that love for it again.
"When you turn it on ... I know this crowd knows you can play that footy and I don't think we've seen the best of David Fifita at the Gold Coast but you've got way better footy in you and you'll be better."
The backrower says he is determined to finish the year strong and wants to help the Titans climb the ladder to push towards the top eight.
"I love this team and I love the club and the boys," he said.
"It's not good fun when you lose and everyone knows that.
"Everyone is upset and disappointed in their own performances.
"But I know it will click."
