While the Dragons couldn’t get the better of the Broncos on Sunday afternoon, it didn’t stop their fullback Cody Ramsey from putting on a show and registering some huge Telstra Tracker numbers in Round 17.
Ramsey topped four of the five categories measured in his two-try showing at Suncorp Stadium, with both the sheer distance he covered and the intensity he did it at, making for impressive reading.
The 22-year-old travelled 9.81 kilometres in total distance against Brisbane, beating the weekend’s next best haul by almost 250 metres.
Plenty of that was done at high speed too, with 821 metres of Ramsey’s total being achieved at a pace above 20 kilometres per hour.
Ramsey's effort rewarded with a double
The numbers for overall distance covered also revealed the extent of the individual effort put in by a number of Sharks players in their dominant 28-6 victory over the Storm on Thursday night, with half of that category’s top 10 being Cronulla players.
Ramsey was pinged at a top speed of 35 km/h too, making him the fastest recorded player of the round ahead of Newcastle youngster Dominic Young (34.7km/h).
The Dragons featured heavily in the Round 17 data overall, with powerhouse wing Mikaele Ravalawa clocking the third highest speed of the weekend (34.6km/h) and Jack Bird registering 203 metres of sprinting at a speed of more than 25 km/h.
Jaxson Paulo blitzed everyone when it came to distance covered above 25 km/h though, racking up 284 metres from the wing for South Sydney as they beat the Knights 40-28.
Paulo tip-toes to the try-line
