Season shapers: Warriors
Opening month
The Warriors will host Newcastle in Wellington to start the 2023 season after confirmation they'll shift two home games away from Mt Smart Stadium next year. Andrew Webster's side will then travel to Sydney to take on the Roosters at Allianz Stadium - their first visit to the venue - before heading further north to Townsville to clash with the Cowboys. They'll return home to finally play in Auckland in Round 4 against the Bulldogs at Mt Smart Stadium.
Origin watch
The Warriors will get the Broncos at a relatively good time prior to Origin I with their Round 13 clash scheduled for Napier's McLean Park on May 27. They'll play back-to-back home games before a trip to Canberra, followed by the bye ahead of Origin II. Their next major challenges will be against the Dragons, Rabbitohs and Eels around the final game of the Origin series.
The run home
A handy bye in Round 22 will give the Warriors one of the latest breaks in the competition to then focus on the final five weeks of the regular season. They'll start that block against the Titans on the Gold Coast before an 'away' trip to Hamilton, where they'll play Wests Tigers. Two home games against the Sea Eagles and Dragons will follow before a rematch with the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium to finish the regular season.
And another thing...
The Warriors will take on defending premiers Penrith in Magic Round with Andrew Webster set to coach against the Panthers and Ivan Cleary for the first time after previously being an assistant to the back-to-back champions. The match will be the only one played between both clubs - finals pending - with the Warriors avoiding playing the champions and runners-up Parramatta twice in the regular season.
