Queensland rivals Broncos and Titans will kickstart a Thursday night double header at the Gabba as Brisbane look to chase their first win.

Scott Prince's Broncos got off to a shaky start against the Roosters on Sunday with ill-discipline and missed tackles proving the difference against a red-hot Tricolours.

But the home side will be looking to avoid a repeat of last season where they recorded just one win in Round 3 and narrowly missed a spot in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the new-look Titans kicked off their season in style, climbing back from a Cowboys lead at half-time to overcome the competition newcomers 16-6 at home.

The Broncos will be busy doing their homework on Gold Coast fullback Evania Pelite after the rugby sevens convert stole the show for the Titans in Round 1 - scoring a crucial try, saving another and running for 246 metres and breaking 16 tackles.

The last time the two sides met in Round 3 last season it was the Broncos getting home with a dominant 22-4 victory in Redcliffe.

Team News

Broncos: A late positional switch sees representative prop Chelsea Lenarduzzi move back to the bench and Breanna Eales start. After Ashleigh Werner was suspended for two games by the NRL Judiciary for biting, Jasmine Fogavini replaces her on the wing. Brisbane have also lost their winger on the opposite side, Julia Robinson, to a hamstring injury, so Lauren Dam comes in from the bench to fill the void. Brianna Clark is good to go after overcoming a hand injury and will make her first appearance of the year via the bench.

Titans: After having a 13-minute cameo as a replacement player last week, Sienna Lofipo makes her starting debut in the halves alongside Chantay Kiria-Ratu, with Taliah Fuimaono ruled out mid-week due to an ankle injury suffered in Round 1. With Zara Canfield dropping out, rookie Rilee Jorgensen makes her NRLW debut as a starting second-rower. Emily Bass is good to go after picking up an arm injury in the win over the Cowboys, while Dannii Perese is a late inclusion on the bench. Brittany Breayley-Nati comes in to start at hooker, with Lauren Brown reverting to the bench.
