Home semi-finals announced for 2023 NRLW finals

The NRL has today confirmed that the expanded 10-team NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership will include home semi-finals for the first time in 2023.

Having previously scheduled semi-finals at neutral venues, the NRL will now allow for teams which finish the regular season in first and second place to play finals matches at their selected home grounds.

Under the six-team competition model in 2022 and 2021, both minor premiers lost their respective semi-final matches having played at a neutral interstate venue.

The change announced by the NRL today means teams which finish the regular season in first or second place will now have a distinct advantage over those who finish in third and fourth.

The semi-finals of the NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership will take place on Sunday, September 24 with both matches to be shown live on Channel 9 and Fox League.

The winners of each semi-final will then play on Grand Final Day at Accor Stadium on Sunday, October 1 prior to the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.
