Jason Saab talks up NRL on Las Vegas sports show

It was a case of lights, camera and action of a different kind in Las Vegas today for Manly Warringah Sea Eagles winger Jason Saab.

The 23-year-old was a special guest on the Sunday afternoon sports show, Sports Wrap, on KLAS 8 News Now, where he was interviewed by hosts Chris Maathuis and Ron Futrell as part of the build up to the historic NRL Double Header at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, March 2.

“You see these sports shows and segments on television back in Australia, so it was a pretty amazing experience to be on set with Chris and Ron,’’ Saab said afterwards.

“It was funny hearing them pronounce my name with an American accent but it was good to talk to people who don’t know much about the NRL and to see their reactions about how our sport is played.”

Saab said the excitement levels were building for the much-anticipated season opener that sees Manly and South Sydney become the first NRL teams to play an actual premiership match in America.

“It’s always exciting to play round one anytime but obviously this game is history making,’’ Saab added.

“To be part of something that will always be in the history of our game and to be able to run out on Allegiant Stadium where the Super Bowl was played is pretty surreal.

“I don’t think it will hit me until we run out. That will be the moment when you really feel the excitement of what we are about to do for the game.”
