Queensland Under 19 Emerging Squad announced

Twenty-four of the state’s most talented female players are now one step closer to Queensland Under 19 selection following their inclusion in this year’s Emerging Squad.

Players involved in the BMD Premiership, Harvey Norman Under 19s and Tarsha Gale Cup matches were considered for selection.

Selectors will now take further performances into consideration before trimming the squad to 18 for the clash against the New South Wales Under 19 team at Sydney’s Leichhardt Oval on June 20.

Emerging Squad players will take part in an opposed session at the Gold Coast this Friday and will also undertake education around Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons values and expectations.

The Queensland Under 19 team will be coached by Deanna Turner, who last year guided the side to a memorable 20-14 victory.

Players selected in the final list of 18 players will assemble in camp on June 14 to prepare for the Leichhardt Oval clash.
