NSWRL Country and City squads announced for 2024

The NSWRL is pleased to announce the following players have been chosen to represent NSW Country and NSW City in the representative fixtures to be played on the weekend of 18-19 May.

Nine games will be played across two days at two venues, the iconic Leichhardt Oval and the Whitlam Leisure Centre, with NSWRL TV to showcase all the action.

The full schedule includes NSW Country v NSW City games for CABE Under 16s Boys, CABE Under 18s Boys, CABE Men’s Open Age and CABE Wheelchair Rugby League on Saturday 18 May; and CABE Physical Disability Rugby League, Westpac Under 17s Girls and Westpac Under 19s Women on Sunday 19 May. There will also be Country v City games for Women’s Police and Men’s Police on Sunday 19 May.

The CABE Under 16s Country team is made up of players from the SLE Andrew Johns Cup and the City team from the UNE Harold Matthews Cup, while the CABE Under 18s Country team is from the SLE Laurie Daley Cup and the City team the UNE SG Ball Cup.

The Westpac Under 17s Country and City Girls teams consist of players from the Westpac Lisa Fiaola Cup, while the Westpac Under 19s Country and City Women's teams are made up of players from the Westpac Tarsha Gale Cup.

The CABE Men’s Open Age Country team is made up of players from the Men’s Country Championships, and the City team from the Leagues Clubs Australia Ron Massey Cup. The City team will be named after the completion of Round Eight in the Leagues Clubs Australia Ron Massey Cup.

Country v City matches started in 1911 with the best players from Country Rugby League taking on the best players from the NSWRL premiership. The concept was then shelved before returning in 1928, and from 1987-2017 was played under Origin selection rules. The representative fixture returned to the NSWRL calendar in 2021.

All nine games will be televised on NSWRL TV, which now has a dedicated app available on the Apple App and Google Play stores.  for more information about NSWRL TV.
