Evania Pelite has claimed the triple crown in 2024, awarded Titans NRLW Player of the Year honours after a stellar season in the No. 1 jersey.
Receiving the top gong from Gold Coast coaching staff, the Origin and International representative also received the ultimate accolade from her peers, judged the players’ player for her phenomenal season at fullback.
Adding to her Members MVP title bestowed a fortnight ago, the 29-year-old has been a shining light amidst a tough campaign, averaging 180 running metres and five tackle breaks per match alongside a relentless defensive attitude that has stopped many in their tracks across season.
Pelite power: The Titans' No. 1 gun
Titans coach Karyn Murphy praised Pelite for her inspirational performances in what has been one of her best NRLW seasons to date.
"Vani is so deserving of our player of the year. She’s had a wonderful season and as soon as she came back for the pre-season, I knew she was going to be on," she said.
"To see her go through the Origin series and play the way she did and then hit the ground running here at the Titans, it was no surprise her performance in Round 1 and then every game from then, she’s been close to our best.
"The amount of tries she’s stopped for us out the back, it typifies our JYD defensive mindset, plus she’s been a dangerous ball carrier as well.
"Her combined contributions with the ball and off the ball have won her this season’s player of the year accolade and it’s also no surprise she has also earned players player honours as well given the job she has done for the team this year."
Rugby Sevens convert Georgia Grey claimed the rookie of the year ahead of five other debutants in the mix for the achievement, having cemented her spot on the wing after debuting in Round 2.
The 20-year-old continued to show growth and development each game to notch up eight appearances in her maiden NRLW season.
