After graduating from St Patrick's College Mackay in 2023, Purdue joined the Cowboys' NRL squad early in 2024.
The 18-year-old would make an appearance off the bench in the Cowboys first trial in 2024 against the Broncos, scoring a try, making six tackles breaks and running for 203 metres.
