The NRL’s alcohol management strategy was developed with the help of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation. It ensures a whole of game approach to responsible drinking, from the grassroots clubs through to the NRL.

Hydration also helps control your body temperature so you’re more likely to overheat if you’ve been drinking alcohol.
It's becoming more common for Rugby League players not to drink as they are focused on their health, fitness and their playing performance.
Alcohol is a leading cause of death amongst Australians, particularly young males.
Alcohol guidelines state men and women who drink no more than two standard drinks on any day reduce their risk of harm from alcohol- related disease.
They also recommend drinking no more than four standard drinks on a single occasion to reduce the risk of alcohol-related injury.
